My kids gifted my husband and I a set w/o the steak knives. I thought they needed new knives, so we gifted them a set with knives. The block does self sharpen, but any chef/cook knows they can always use an additional hand sharpening!

They are okay
The blades are thin and somewhat flimsy. They are however sharp but that's to be expected from new knives. The pairing knife sits very loosely in the block, it's hard to explain but it's kind of floppy. Overall it doesn't feel like the quality product I was expecting.
