I got these on sale and my 7 year old boys loved them! It was exciting opening the box too. You have to open the top, sides, bottom and then twist two plastic “screws” underneath to release it. Normally all of that unboxing would have been annoying but knowing there's a surprise egg inside made it worth it. Then the real fun happens once you turn the key and initiate the hatching. Watching the awe on my boys face was priceless. They were so excited once it started hatching. Definitely worth the purchase.

Hatch an egg have some fun.
My 10 year old granddaughter picked this out for herself as a moving up day gift and when we got it home after reading the instructions she began playing with it. I won't spoil the fun but I will say I got this on sale and it was worth it. Not only did she have fun with this , I did too. So much so I was able to get 2 more on sale as gifts for Christmas. There are 3 different eggs to choose from and on the box shows the possibility of 2 different little animals. The downside is you don't know which animal is inside the egg. Other than that it is really adorable. It takes batteries which it already comes with so the fun starts as soon as you unpack it.
