Very cute but hard plastic

Just as pictured, colors are great. However, I expected it to be a softer rubber or plastic and smaller for small children. A 3 instead of 5 star rating because this is hard plastic and larger than expected. I should have checked all the details, but just assumed it would be perfect due to it being from Hape. They may have a significant reason for each that I'm unaware of, but this is my initial response as I try to consider what might happen if a little one starts swinging or throwing things as often does happen and this could definitely hurt when making contact.
