I purchased these tires through Walmart.com. I usually buy Goodyear tires which are currently on my Honda. My older brother does all the maintenance on the family vehicles (I'm a lucky little brother).
I went with Hankook (South Korean) brand because Goodyear no longer made a smaller radial tire. They couldn't find my size tire in their inventory. I ended up going with another tire retailer who recommended Hankook. I purchased one tire this time last year.
Fast-forward to last week (week of October 27th)- my older brother recommended purchasing additional tires as the remaining three Goodyear tires are worn and one is visibly showing signs of 'dry rot.' š² I called the local Goodyear to see just by chance to if they had a tire, wishful thinking, nope. I was told, indeed, they no longer are making the smaller radial for sedans.
I decided to take a chance on Walmart's automotive department. šš¤ The young associate was very good at engaging me as I walked to her counter. She gave plenty of eye-contact and was attentive and conversant with my need for new tires. Searching her inventory she found none, bummer. She then suggested Walmart.com. I was shocked that she came up with such an idea as this particular auto and tire department was notorious for poor customer engagement and terrible service, the was at the Millington, TN location.
After heeding the advice from the associate, I searched Walmart's website and found the Hankook tires, exact size as the one I need a year ago. The price was great (it's Walmart after all š). I placed the order and then scheduled an appointment time. Mind you, this was last weekend as of this writing. I booked an appointment for a Wednesday, which was October 29th. The tires arrived as ordered. I made it to the 8am appointment at this location's tire and auto department. Checking in was efficient and cordial. As a remainder, this Walmart had a past history of less than than stellar service. The same efficient associate that suggested me looking on Walmart.com was working at the counter so I felt encouraged. She asked where I needed the new tires mounted, I told her both in the front. I also requested her to instruct the technician to check the remaining Goodyear tire and replace it with one of the other Goodyear tires being replaced if they were betterctgan the remaining one. I gave her my keys and went on about my way browsing through this cavernous retail behemoth.
Thirty minutes and a sausage biscuit and coffee later (there is a Carl's Jr. near this Walmart), I get a text saying my car is ready. I make my way from the Pharmacy area as they have large comfortable benches perfect for sitting and eating an "On the go" breakfast. I approach the tire and auto counter. The pleasant associate hands me an I-Pad for.an electronic signature and I go. I was happy to find my vehicle parked in the disabled parking space (I am a disabled senior citizen). Inspect my two new front Hankook tires and feel, well.... š¤¦
