The only shock i use it works well.
Pool stores screwed me over by telling me to dump a whole bunch of CYA in my pool and their shock. Then after a few months my pool had too much CYA and they told me to buy CYA remover. Anyways, after adding and draining and wasting water, i came across this product. It adds chlorine without adding too much CYA. i use this as the only shock and chlorine. It does add calcium to the water but then if its too high you can get flocculant to remove and run the filter for 24 hours.
