Works well to combat a green algae problem when used in conjunction with large doses of chlorine- just follow the instructions and be prepared to brush and backwash as needed. Keep brushing, keep backwashing. You did order some extra DE, right? Hey, it happens to the best of us. The best way to use this product, however, is to add a little each week, following instructions, as a preventative, pro-active defense to getting algae in the first place. I wont start adding this product to my pool until the summer becomes really hot and humid, which for me in South Jersey is usually the first week of July-give or take. Remember that algae doesn't like to grow in a pool that is properly balanced: Total alkalinity in range, pH in correct range, Cyanuric acid\stabilizer in range, and of course chlorine or salt for your converter, as the case may be.
