Fast Grass

While it may be a bit premature to be writing this with only 14 days of growth to compare, I have been very pleased with the performance of GrowTrax grass.  The material is convenient to store (better than sod!), easy to shape to fit a space or site, stays in place (though I used landscape pins) and quick to show signs of growth under daily watering. An added bonus is the fertilizer embedded in the biodegradable material. Grass started appearing after only a few days and continues to look strong - definitely on track to show the promise suggested on the website. I have been very happy with the product so far and have even shard some of the material for others to try out. I would definitely give it a go! My only comment would be that it would be nice if the density of grass seed embedded were increased to get better coverage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After about 3 weeks I see a lot of grass geminated and growing. I may have missed the temperature requirement and planted late for East Tennessee Fall. I will need to wait till the spring to see if it survives. My fault if it does not.

Medium grass coverage

I am a little disappointed due to only medium grass blades growing. I really hoped for dense coverage. Also, the grass is growing, but the netting is not degrading. I wrote to GrowTrax and was told it degrades in approximately 3-4 weeks. We have been watering 3 weeks and the mesh is not degrading. I have concerns that my dogs or lawnmower will get tangled in the netting if it does not degrade.

The mesh is biodegradable and is designed to break down around the 3–4 week mark, but sometimes depending on moisture, soil type, and weather conditions, it can take a little longer to fully disintegrate.
