Ehhh

I saw this at my local store as a new item. I’m a fan of the other green giant frozen veggies and I love spaghetti squash (I make so many recipes using the veggie) I thought I would purchase just a couple bags of this to try and save myself some time since actual spaghetti squash takes me over an hour to cook. This product is a simple no from me. It is way too watery, and the texture is slimy yet crunchy (hard to explain). It’s missing something in flavor by purchasing it this way. I would say try it because some people might enjoy it, but ill stick to the actual veggie. This product is also more expensive then buying the actual veggie by the pound. One bag cost me $3.95.

Disappointed

I thought buying these would be a great way to save the time it takes to deseed and cook a fresh spaghetti squash. Nope. These were not "spirals" as the name implies. They were little thin rectangles. I got them to go with my chicken Alfredo. NOT a pasta replacement like spaghetti squash usually is.

It arrives as one frozen clump of squash. You can't separate it into spaghetti-like noodles. Even after preparing as directed on the package it's just chunks of squash that appear to be pre-chopped. If you just want to add bulk to a soup or stew recipe these are fine. But if you're looking for a low carb pasta alternative pass on these. Also the amount listed is 2 cups and after it's cooked and all the water is released the amount left is really about a 1/2 cup.
