It's a good value and has true "SELL BY" dates.

Walmart's own brand, Great Value, is true to irs name in the dairy aisle. Great Value Whole Vitamin D Milk was fresh, had a good future "SELL BY" date, and it was one of the greater valued items of milk in the dairy aisle, in terms of how much you are getting per unit (in ounces/gallons) and how much you are paying for the item. It has a good taste, good nutritional value, and a good future "SELL BY" date. It's pasteurized and has a nice texture that you'd expect fresh milk to have. Most importantly, the price is good per gallon in comparison with similar products down the dairy aisle so I recommend Great Value, for its good quality and its good value for the price.

fyi. my milk that was dated 11/03. I finished 11/17! 2 weeks after date. But I had opened about 10 days earlier. I don't use much milk. I usually buy another more expensive brand that will always last 10 days past. I pour 3-4 , 2 cup size jars at a time. That way it doesn't keep warming up. I also don't leave it out.

This milk makes excellent cottage cheese. You'll never get good cottage cheese from bad milk. The cottage cheese is soft, holds its shape, has large flakes, and is delicious. There's also some liquid left over, which can be used to make excellent, soft pancakes.
