I've always purchased these brown bags. They're good for a lot of things: disposing things in the bathroom that you normally have to use newspaper for, small trash items in and from the car. They are handy and I don't always like using big trash bags or the grocery bags from the store for little stuff.

You cannot beat the price on these Great Value paper lunch bags. They are very convenient for packing things up and handing off. They can be decorated with stickers, markers. Can be used for lunches, treat bags etc... If placing heavy items in the bags, I usually run a strip of masking tape or scotch tape across the bottom for reinforcement.
