At first bite, the breading had a noticeably “off” taste, kind of chemical and stale simultaneously, the staleness being quite strange and unexpected for a frozen product. The deep fried crust, like all jalapeño popper brands, is far too heavy. A lighter, flour, egg and milk based breading yielding a light and crispy batter would be so much better and tastier. (ALL brands make this cardinal mistake—they can and SHOULD do better🤨). As others noted, the cream cheese filling did have an unnecessary and regrettable though slight sweetness—just wrong! As others noted the peppers were sort of tough skinned (why?), but even worse some peppers had no heat at all! That's not why I buy jalapeño anything! I don't expect to burn off my oral mucosa but I do expect a solid, moderate, 3 star, uniform heat from each pepper involved! Another disappointment. Jalapeno poppers are probably one of those foods that would be far superior if one prepared and cooked them oneself but that's quite a bit of time and trouble to do it right. Too bad no brand is very good at all. Pity.
