Mixing it is important because it clearly has two different color ingredients and my arm did get tired. This is an awesome value, perhaps because of the gray shade (instead of white) . The coverage is excellent, going a long way. This is a stain blocking primer, and I only use stain blocking primers . I didn't notice any bad smell, perhaps because this is a water-based product . It dries very quickly, nice for the door since we go in and out a lot and don't want to get paint on us. This is what we call a bonding primer. You see, one of the doors had a mix of some old oil paint, and some old acrylic paint, so I needed a primer that would make the new acrylic paint stick to both paints. Also, I needed a very strong bond on some other doors because the other doors are double door garage doors and I cannot possibly do much of a sanding job on such on such a big area.

I used this to prime previously painted wood it filled in gaps and hid everything with excellent coverage and dried smooth. It dis not dry as fast as I has hoped, 7 hours later it is still a little sticky, thank goodness a second coat wasn't needed.
