Buyer beware - trust Walmart, not Amazon
BEWARE: If you buy this item on Amazon you will most likely receive a 12-year old unit, in the original box, so it looks like it is new. There is no manufactured date on the unit or the box, so you will not know that it isn't a new unit! If you have an issue with the unit, APC will laugh at you and tell you that Amazon is not an authorized reseller and that your warranty expired years ago. Walmart is an authorized reseller. Their price is just as good as the scams on Amazon. I will always buy this item on Walmart from now on.

Solid Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been installing UPS systems for 8+ years, and this APC Smart-UPS X is my go-to for small to medium setups. The 2U rack/tower convertible design gives you flexibility if your setup changes, and the mix of outlet types (5-15R, 5-20R, and L5-20R NEMA) means you can plug in just about anything without adapters. The SmartSlot is perfect for adding remote monitoring, and the extended runtime actually works - one client stayed online through a 45-minute outage last month. It's a bit heavy, but that's the price of solid build quality. If you need reliable power protection with room to grow, this delivers every time.

Perfect for IDF
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit is perfect for instances where there's only a standard 120V outlet available. Provides enough backup power and protection for IDF assets to ensure uptime and accessibility of corporate resources. Great that these units can be used as a tower or installed in rack with minimal effort. Has a clear to read LCD screen in front as well.
