Children will love to use these durable, vividly colored pencils. Small enough to fit in a book bag, this portable box holds 12 colors. Featured colors include Salmon, Melon, Apricot, Unmellow Yellow, Spring Green, Sea Green, Cool Mint, Cornflower, Periwinkle, Purple Mountains Majesty, Slate, and Sand. These pencils are created from reforested wood instead of wood from old-growth forests. For every tree used in the manufacturing of these pencils, a new tree is planted. Color pencils include a pencil sharpener and are recommended for children ages 4 and up.

I have been using Zebra pens and mechanical pencils for years and was somewhat upset when I realized that my local stores no longer carried the mechanical pencils in 0.5mm lead diameter....Thankfully I can still order them on online. Spots may be for squares...but I want thin stripes!

Derwent Lightfast Coloured Pencils, Set of 12
I'm normally a Prismacolor user but these Derwent Pencils are definitely impressive! I'd say they're about on par with Prisma, perhaps better. I really like the pigment and creamy application of these pencils. I find that they do a terrific job with blending. I think the set of 12 has a great array of colors, especially for portraits. I will definitely be purchasing the larger set in the future.
