Gold Medal Grandiflora Rose begins as a shapely dark gold bud brushed with orange. From that emerges a deep golden yellow bloom. The colors are deeper in moderate climates. The flowers are double and have a rich, fruity fragrance. The stems are long, have dark green foliage and very few thorns. This is a vigorous and prolific plant. Each offer includes one dormant bare root 1.5 grade rose. Space plants approximately 5 feet apart for best results. Prefers well-drained, medium moisture, slightly acidic soil. Blooms May to frost. Reaches standard mature height of 5 to 6 feet. Botanical name: Rosa aroyqueli. Hardy in USDA zones 5 to 9. In colder zones some winter protection of the roots is advised.
