Genuine Dickies Silver Carbon Fiber Accordion Windshield Sun Shade, 41131WDI

I bought two of these windshield screens for use in outdoor cat shelters made from 27 gallon plastic storage containers with snap lids. The pair of shelters I was given last winter have these lining all sides and the top of the container. For the two I'm building now I'll probably just be using this screen inside the container lid. On the walls I want to use rigid foam board that is 1" thick or 2" thick. The 2" thick rigid foam board has an R value of 7.7. I'll have a sheet of either the 1" or 2" foam board above the rigid foam board on the sidewalls, with this screen taped inside of the lid above that. I've also used these to keep fruit and produce cold in trucks and cars for transport to farmers markets on hot days. It will keep the products cold even overnight. And yes, these windshield screens do a good job of keeping your car from getting too hot. Tip: the sun moves during the day, so buy 2-3 extra so you can have some blocking the sun from the rear window and on the side windows that will be in the path of the sun during the day.
