Merrick Lil’ Plates Premium Grain Free Dry Dog Food For Small Dogs, Real Chicken And Sweet Potato Kibble, 12.0 lb. Bag

I've tried a number of the different Merrick Grain Free flavors over the past year since and my Maltese loves them all. We live in Florida and he has lots of allergies so he is always sneezing and wheezing. Ever since we've had him, he always had really bad brown tear staining. I know this is "normal" for the breed so I cleaned it as best I could and got him groomed frequently to prevent it from getting too thick on his face. About three months ago when he finished the bag of food he was on I was looking for a new flavor of Merrick. I found the small breed recipe and thought I would give it a try. Within three weeks his tear stains had cleared up! We were out of town for a week of that time and the dogsitter uses angel eyes on her dogs (bad stuff - don't do it!) so I thought she must have given it to him too. Now, it has been three months and his tear staining still hasn't come back! I mentioned it to the vet when he was there for a check up and the vet said some foods can reduce their allergies therefore reducing the amount of tears produced. I know what food we are sticking with! We love Merrick!

I bought this food last month when the distributor was visiting our pet food store. He was not pushy and indeed had food displayed ... I told him what dog food I came to buy so he went with me and we compared ingredients ... Merrick had the BEST ... well, I brought it home and mixed it with her remaining kibbles ... she actually separated the kibbles and ate all of the lil Plates ... now a month later, she still loves it ! We just bought another bag !! I highly recommend this dog food :-)
