Excellent for quick shaping of soft materials

I love this for down and dirty adjustments for sheetrock, foam, and softer woods. If you're an arts and crafts type hobbyist this is probably one of the best tools I have ever seen for shaping foams and balsa stock. As stated in another review it does take a little practice at first because it does have a great bite to it! Incredibly efficient and while I don't use this as much as my other planes it's a happy addition to my collection.

The speed rasp

I bought my Stanley surform pocket plane about a year ago. Only have had replaced the rasp part one time. I'm the only one on my drywall crew that uses one and I rasp boards faster than anybody on the job. Fits in your hand perfect and knocks the chunks of gypsum off nicely. I have would have to say a its a great product with craftsmans or Stanley's name on it both will do the job with the same efficency. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
