Works well to replace heavy window unit
We decided to get this to replace a very heavy window unit which we used to cool our first floor. This fits nicely on the floor by the window, is not unattractive in it's place in the dining room, cools the downstairs well. It does make a noise when it is blowing but no more, and possibly less, than the window unit we had. An advantage is that you can open the window when the unit is not in use without moving the piece that fits in the window because the screen stays all the way down.
