Depending on the age, activity level and condition of your dog, the feeding guidelines will need to be adjusted. The normal daily feeding amount for a healthy adult dog:Dog's weight - 4-10 lbs. Cups* - 1/2 - 3/4.Dog's weight - 11-20 lbs. Cups* - 3/4 - 1 1/3.Dog's weight - 21-35 lbs. Cups* - 1 1/3-2.Dog's weight - 36-50 lbs. Cups* - 2-2 2/3.Dog's weight - 51- 65 lbs. Cups* - 2 2/3-3 1/4.Dog's weight - + 25 lbs. Cups* - 2/3.*Using standard 8 oz measuring cup.This 5.5 lb package contains approximately 17 cups of food.For pregnant or lactating females, offer two to three times the normal adult requirement. For puppies, feed up to twice the normal adult requirement from four to fourteen months of age in two to three feedings. The above quantities can be fed as one meal or divided into two meals based on your dog's preference. When switching foods gradually increase the new food and decrease the previous food to help make a smooth transition.Visit your veterinarian regularly to maintain your pet's health. My pet chihuahua is very finicky and over his ten years has been offered a wide variety of dog foods, all quality products but he has consistently eaten this Freshpet Meal with satisfaction. He eats promptly on being served, doesn't ignore the food for days like he has with other highly rated products. He wouldn't even eat the specialized food sent to my home for him from a lab based pet food company! He lives Freshpet and I trust it. It produces low odor poop and his system stays consistent and he appears to be thriving on Freshpet!

I usually make homemade and she is spoiled (she is a mountain cur,hound breed %26 known for her sense of smell, nose)but she loves this,it has a moist kibble that she loves (she dislikes kibble) it smells very fresh and has bits of chicken,carrots and what I believe is beef. I personally rate this food as a very high grade food %26 I will mention that I add about 2 tablespoons (or less)of water then stir and this is the only store bought dog food that she gobbles up and loves. I do feed as a meal but she eats it as if it was a treat.
