When I buy these freshness, guaranteed plain angel food ring cakes, I always buy canned great value no sugar added cherry pie filling topping to have with it. They are both low-calorie and not loaded with fat. Perfect Low-Calorie Dessert!

This cake seems to be made especially to go with strawberries and whipped cream! I buy the frozen strawberries (Great Value) and put them over a slice of this cake, then top it with whipped cream. This is great for a dieter's dessert just as long as you don't add sugar and take just a reasonable portion and don't allow yourself to get carried away. FYI, a 'reasonable portion' is about the amount that a restaurant would serve you.

Great for Strawberry Shortcake!

This has become my "go to" cake for making Strawberry Shortcake. It's light, fluffy and sweet. At first I was Leary about buying so much of it, but one of Walmart's bakery employees told me it freezes really well. You can actually put this in your freezer (without the strawberries of course) and have it ready when you have guests (or Grandkids) drop in for a visit. It thaws quickly and tastes like it's never been frozen...FRESH! Good stuff and as of this writing, reasonably priced.
