Tenacious Upgrade

Sal Glesser designed this to be like his popular Byrd Raven 2, but without the finger choil, and make it under the Spyderco brand. It has the same CTS BD1 steel, too. I'm not a fan of finger choils, so this model was a perfect way for me to get into the world of Spyderco. They have a very similar knife already with the Tenacious. However, the Tenacious (at $45) is made with Chinese 8cr13mov steel. So the question you need to ask yourself when considering this Polestar is whether or not the upgrade to American BD1 steel (harder and more corrosion resistant), the slight upgrade of "fit

Would have given it a 5 star, but it's not made in the USA. I thought only the Spyderco Byrd series was made in China. I was wrong. All said and done it's still a quality knife. Smooth Action and fairly sharp. I do have a Bryd cara cara 2 and this knife is definitely an upgrade. I hope it's real bd1 steel. will have to wait and see how the edge holds up.
