I ordered this dress in both the denim and white and light blue stripe. It has full working buttons and a self belt. The metal belt loops are open on one end, making it difficult to tighten around the waist- the fabric slips out of the loops and comes loose. I worked around this by tying a knot of sorts around itself, and it worked fine. I will probably end up using other belts with this dress for different looks - a western belt with the denim and a raffia belt with the blue and white stripe. The belt is definitely not a deal breaker, and no one else would notice. The fit is great. I got the size large, and my measurements are: 5'5", 160 lbs, waist 30", bust 39". I have an athletic build, so I usually go for a large with fitted items from this brand for the waist fit. I have washed and worn these dresses and they hold up beautifully. You will need some skin tone colored undergarments for the striped white and light blue. Oh, and they have pockets!! Great dress. Give it a try!
