Love the polyurethane foam material of the balls. It's this light material surrounding the ball that gives it its great texture and grippability. I have very small hands, I wear an x-small in gloves, and the size and the material of the balls are very easy for me to grip one-handed and throw the balls in rapid succession. Set comes with 6 balls, I almost feel like I need a few sets so I'm not constantly chasing after balls and stopping the flow of the game. So far, the foam material has help up to some strenuous play. These dodge balls were a big hit with my daughter that are 7 and 9 yrs old. They had their friends over and had such a blast that all the kids now want these dodge balls too. They are super soft that it doesn't hurt when you get hit. They are a good size and are easy to throw.
