Fordhook Giant swiss chard is a standard green swiss chard with dark green, thick, tender savoyed leaves and broad, juicy, white stalks and white veins. This heirloom variety produces heavy yields from late spring till winter even in hot weather. It can be grown in hot climates as well as cold climates and handles it all with ease. Fordhook does well in containers and isone of the most prolific producers of swiss chard. The stems and leaves are loaded with nutrition and fiber and have a hearty spinach flavor. It can be substituted for spinach in recipes. These giant swiss chard leaves are an excellent choice for a grower looking for a productive harvest. They are easy to grow at home, and produce mass amounts of swiss chard, which tastes similar to spinach.
