I'm 73, with a bit irregular bowels. Although no one likes to talk about suppositories, we know our bodies and when we shouldn't be straining to poop. I keep a box of vinyl gloves in the bathroom to protect my hands when using. They work fairly quickly but I like to leave them as long as I can for them to do their work.
