New Carburetor is junk

I installed the carburetor on my lawnmower, and it did not work. The lawnmower started at what seemed like full throttle and then immediately stalled. I could never get the lawnmower to stay running. I removed the new carburetor, cleaned up my old carburetor and re-installed my old carburetor. The lawnmower started and ran although I still have problems getting it to idle at least I can mow my lawn.
