Great Results with Oatey Pipe Joint Compound

I've used Oatey White pipe joint compound for years on domestic water lines and never had a leak. PVC, copper or galvanized pipe and never had an issue. Also use it in my hobby of restoring vintage outboard motors - cylinder head bolts, exhaust cover screws, intake manifolds screws. Never had any leaks around the head bolts or exhaust covers and the PTFE makes it easy to remove the fasteners in the future.

Doesn't Work!

I used Oatey Great White Pipe Joint Compound on a new Laundry Room Wash Machine Cold faucet. I connected the faucet to a new brass connector that was then connected to the water supply line. I followed the instructions on the tube to the tee. I even let the joint cure overnight. The next day I turned the water on. Soon after I noticed water bubbles coming out around the connection joint. Not Good!

Compounded problems

Non hardening, how possibly hold pressure???

Product says right on this page "non hardening" (which is correct, doesn't seem to dry/cure even after days). But then the product claims to hold 10,000 psi, yes, ten thousand... How would that be possible when the product doesn't harden? To boot, Minimal instructions do not aid in clarity of use.
