Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 UHP Summer 205/50R17 93W XL Passenger Tire

I have definitely put these tires through the paces the last several months. Dry, wet, high speed (158 mph max), drag racing, track days. I've done it all to these tires. I have to say that I have never in my life had tires that performed this well. I know Subaru asymmetrical AWD helps a lot with traction but I have yet to find the limit of these tires. On the track or off the track, wet or dry, they stick to the pavement like glue. You hear the saying "you get what you pay for" all the time which concerned me at first as these were the cheapest decent tires I could find. They more than exceeded my expectations as I went with them over Potenza S-04's and Contisport Contact's to save money. I highly recommend these tires to anyone who wants a affordable performance tire. No indication of tread wear performance yet. They seem to be wearing great though.

After running Firehawk Wide-Oval Indy 500s I knew I was going to buy a new set of Indy Tires because I had been relying on these and had come to know their characteristics! When I began to research the options for my new tires I was introduced to the Indy 500 with pulse groove design. All reviews were five Star across the board. I bought a set and I'm here to tell you " I could tell I liked them as I backed off the Four post lift " within the drive home I tested their grip. If you are familiar with traction control on a C5 you Know that hard acceleration with control on and tire slip makes it a on off on off situation as the tires slip and control takes over and then the process repeats, so most of the time with the Wide Ovals, I had to turn control off and contend with wheel spin by feathering throttle. Not the case with new Indy 500s! I can leave traction control on, mash the throttle and never spin the tires enough o activate the computer trying to keep me from having fun. This alone told me how well I could expect the tires to bite during the twisting turns. These tires truly are exceptional on my car as it is set up, it's like I have a new car. Handles great in the rain! I wish everyone could experience these tires on their car, compared to what they had. No doubt they are impressive on a car capable of utilizing the tires capability. Love Them!
