You have to wait for it to warm up
Super fancy works well. Best thing I have ever purchased. The only caveat is that the directions do not tell you that you have to wait for it to literally warm up before the espresso setting will do espresso things. You select the espresso side and when it stops flashing that's how you know it's ready for you to make a selection on which size you want it to make. In the directions it says to just select it so I had a little trouble figuring by it out at first but otherwise it is super easy to use.

Hands-down, our favorite coffee maker ever! We enjoy having a regular cup of coffee and adding in the shot of espresso. Holds a great amount of water, such an easy clean each evening and always a great cup of coffee in the morning! Our one lasted us two years and now we just grabbed another one. Totally worth every penny in my book!

Coffee side is ok…the actual pot leaks if filled past 6 cups so for larger groups it does not work unless you want coffee all over your floor. Espresso side does not extract at all if you tamper your beans at all and steamer does not get milk hot. Probably wouldn't repurchase or waste my money on this
