The central heat went out in my apartment the other night and this little machine was a lifesaver. It warmed up a 500 sq foot room by 4 degrees in less than an hour, so I was able to get ready for work in a toasty warm area. The ceramic heat element and the oscillation seem to spread heat out evenly, unlike fan-style heaters that blast heat in one direction only. It is also extremely quiet.
