An excellent product.

I purchased this heating pad to replace an older one that had hot spots so had become unsafe to use. I have found this to be an excellent product. The uniform heat on all three settings provide comfort over the entire area of the pad. There is an automatic shutdown to prevent overheating, and the storage pouch for the cord makes it easy to pack in a suitcase. I think this pad was a big factor in helping me recover from a painful muscle strain.

Just Okay-Touchy Controls

This heating pad is just okay. The soft front side is quite thick so it takes some time for the heat to come through. (I’ve just been using the “back”.) My biggest concern here is with the control mechanism. It operates by pushing down a button rather than sliding it up to change heat levels. I made the mistake of not unplugging the heating pad and, at some point, either the cat walked across the control or something got set on it and I discovered it at full heat unattended. UNPLUG after each use. The control button only needs a light touch. Also, check frequently if using for an invalid to avoid injury. I wish I had spent an extra $5 or so for something a bit better.

I bought this same like item about 2 years ago, smaller version without the closure strap the one I bought had ties on the end. This version doesn’t get hot enough and through the thick cover you barely feel heat. Also the cover is soft and nice but quickly looks like a smashed mess. Even after washing and fluff drying it’s still a smashed mess. Sunbeam heating items have been a staple in our home since I was a kid but quality on the heating pads has not stayed the same.
