I bought this tumbler for a disabled family member who is bedridden. I needed a tumbler that resembled the plastic one from the hospital but would keep ice water cold for many hours, unlike the plastic one that had to have ice added every two hours. I also needed one that had a regular bottom, not tapered, so it would stay upright. This tumbler meets our needs well. It comes with sturdy straws and a special cleaning brush. The lid has a sliding open/close drinking feature and snaps in the tumbler. The only thing I would change if I could is for the lid to screw on so that it cannot come off unintentionally.
