Product details
The Jalapeno produces sausage-shaped peppers that average 3.5" x 1.5" and are very popular in Mexican and American cuisine. The upright plants grow up to 30" tall and will continue producing over an extended period of time, making this an excellent choice for the home garden! They mature in 75 days and produce 5,000 Scoville Heat Units. Named for their native Mexican city of Xalapa, Veracruz, jalapenos are the most well known chili pepper in both Mexico and the United States. When smoked and dried, jalapenos become chipotles; this practice dates back to the time of the Aztecs. The state of Texas, which produces more jalapeno peppers than any other state, made the jalapeno its state pepper in 1995.

This was the only place I could readily find Summer Savory and Thai Basil (in stock) so I also ordered 3 packets of chile peppers. They arrived quite promptly and I am impressed these seeds are packed in individual foil, zip-top envelopes. This should be the industry standard for sure.

Healthy Plants!
Having grown jalapenos from many sources over the years, I'm often disappointed by sad, underperforming plants. The jalapenos I grew from these seeds were some of the best ever. Home grown peppers always have more kick than grocery store version, and these were no exception. They were excellent in sandwiches, salads and more. The germination rate was exceptionally good - I got almost 100% germination in 14 days - far better than some other pepper seeds I grew last year. Overall, I'm pleased and will source peppers from Everwilde in the future.
