The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition - Girl Scout Elf with Blue Eyes - Includes Artfully Illustrated Storybook, Keepsake Box and Official Adoption Certificate

She just came out of her box yesterday. I've always thought the self on the Shelf stuff is overpriced. She's cute and well-constructed. She'll last for many years. Boys and girls both like her. We already had a boy who came a few years ago; the girls box and book is smaller, but I suppose that is to keep from raising the price due to inflation etc. The girl book also didn't come with a dust jacket. These could be cons, depending on your personal preference. I've included a picture of the boy book from a few years ago to the girl book recently purchased. We don't cuddle our elves because that is against the rules of adopting a scout elf. I like that the apron certificate is in the back of the book so that you don't have to keep track of it, but there is an option to scan the QR code and print a separate adoption certificate. If you're a Christian and sending whether to start this tradition or not: Jesus is still at the center of our holiday, and our elves are just a fun addition. We don't do all the “crazy” things like you see online. Only once in a while they do something “crazy” like hanging from the ceiling fan by a string.
