Eastwood Benchtop Blast Cabinet

This blast cabinet is really nice, the cabinet / gun combination seem to be high quality and it's nice that you can change out the tips to the gun, (I have had previous blasters where that was a fixed thing and you had to have several guns to get different patterns). A couple of issues I noticed with using the cabinet: 1) Although it holds a good vacuum, there are a lot of spots in the joints that aren't sealed and the media leaks through all over the ground, you will need to re-seal the joints. 2) Perhaps the media I'm using isn't ideal, but I noticed that it doesn't funnel the best going back down to the pickup tube. The bottom funneling section isn't really steep enough to re-collect the media, so the media just kinda sits all over the cabinet base and then you have to shake it manually down back to the pickup tube. (Using 80 grit glass-bead) 3) You 100% need a separate vacuum system / dust collector to clear the dust while blasting. Don't get crazy, a small 1hp vacuum works great. I tried my 5hp vacuum and the suction was too great it made it difficult to maneuver the gloves around against the pull. 4) The fluorescent light is kinda lackluster, it does the job but it could be a LED that is much brighter, will probably upgrade in the near future. 5) The hoses to the gun are a little short, I added a little length to each to make the gun more maneuverable in the cabinet. I also added a quick-disconnect to the air-line inside the cabinet so the gun can bend and twist better without getting jammed up from the hose being locked at a single angle. 6) This thing is an air-hog. You 100% need a large compressor/tank combo that can keep up maintaining 80 psi while blasting, otherwise be prepared to take long breaks in between your work. Overall I rate this thing 4.5 stars / excellent. It's made very well, easy to use, lots of space, nice features such as the lift-assist shocks. Thanks Eastwood!

This was my first attempt to sand blasting and I couldn't have chosen a better unit to start out my quest for this type of projects. I was totally surprised what this bench top unit could do, Very pleased with any thing I've bought from Eastwood and their help is outstanding and just a phone call away.
