I spent long hours doing research on electric fireplaces. I ended choosing this over an electric one because of the easy “installation” (placed it in my fireplace and plugged it in). I love the realistic crackling sound. The only con is the loud whirring fan sound when the heater is turned on. I've gotten many compliments on it and my friends and family can't believe how real it looks and sounds.

Fantastic!

Well the first one I received was faulty. It made a grinding noice the entire time it was on, even without the crackling sound on. I contacted customer service and they asked for a video of the unit being faulty. They then told me to cut the cord and sent me a replacement. The replacement showed up within the week, very quick. It has worked magnificently. I'm overall pleased with this fireplace insert and very satisfied with the customer service! Looks and sounds like a real fire! The heater feature works well also.
