Duracell, DURMN9100B2PK, Security Alkaline 12V Photo N Battery - MN9100, 2 / Pack, Black

I was shocked to receive these batteries yesterday with an expiration date of March 2017. That's only 9 months from now. The Brooklyn Battery Works listing did not state that they would send inventory that has an expiration date that is less than 1 yr out. Duracell ships out new batteries with expiration dates that are several years out which is what I was expecting to receive. If I had known that they would ship old product with less than 1 yr before the expiration date I never would have placed the order for them. I did call their customer service about this and they told me the batteries will continue to function beyond the expiration date. We'll see but my experience with batteries is that sometimes they do for a little while and sometimes then don't. They did offer to take them back for a refund which is the only reason I rated them 2 stars instead of 1 star but there was not even an apology for sending me batteries with such a short time left before the expiration date and for not declaring that in their listing.
