These are great under a scarf or wig, helps keep your hair from slipping out. I clip my hair with a barrette, and use small metal clips on the edge of the wig cap to keep it from slipping too farback. It does need to be redone after a few hours, as it does tend to slip. I also use a velveteen band that closes with velcro, over the wig capand under the wig or scarf. It helps keep the wig and scarf in place, without needing to use metal combs (on most wigs) which tend to be irritating to the scalp, and can cause hair loss or irritation to the scalp. I place the nylon caps, as well as the velveteen bands, in a small mesh bag to launder, which protects them in the wash, as wel as reminds me not to put them in the dryer. In a pinch, they could also be washed in the dishwasher.
