Cooking Instructions - General - For microwave ovens less than 800 watts please use stove top instructions. Caution contents are hot. Handle with care. Hob - From Frozen - Stove Top. 1. Empty frozen contents of bag into a 2-quart nonstick saucepan. Add 2 tablespoons water. 2. Cook covered over medium heat for 8 to 9 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally. 3. Let stand for 1 to 2 minutes. Drain and serve. Microwave - From Frozen - Microwave ovens vary - adjust cooking times as needed to reach 165°F as measured by a food thermometer taken in several spots. Keep frozen - do not thaw. Cook thoroughly to a temperature of 165°F. Cook 1 product at a time. Promptly refrigerate any leftovers. Reheat before serving. 1. Place frozen, unopened bag this side up, laying flat in microwave. Do not pierce bag. For microwaves with a metal rack, remove rack. 2. Microwave on High for the recommended cook time based on your microwave wattage. During cooking, the bag will slowly inflate. A special vent in the bag will allow the steam to escape and a whistling sound may be heard. 3. Let stand for 1 - 2 minutes after cooking. Carefully handle bag at corners marked with the red ovals and remove from microwave with two hands. Hold bag over serving dish. Tear bag at notch. Pour, stir and enjoy! Microwave Cook Time. Wattage: 1200, Minutes: 4½. Wattage: 1000, Minutes: 5½. Wattage: 800, Minutes: 6. Cook thoroughly - See cooking instructions

These green beans are great and taste like fresh. I microwave them for 4-5 minutes, then throw them in a hot skillet with melted butter, onions and mushrooms. Saute until the onions and mushrooms are done and the green beans have some color on them. Company worthy!

LITERALLY better tasting than fresh
I used these in a NYT recipe that called for fresh green beans, after previously making the recipe with actual fresh organic green beans. These were LITERALLY better tasting than fresh, and now I always use them for this certain recipe. Also they were faster and easier to prepare. They may cost more per pound than fresh, but it's not going to break the bank, and considering it tastes better and takes less time, that's part of a product's value to me.

One of my favorite things is fresh green beans with bacon and small potatoes. This always takes a few hours cooking, as well as made a large pot full. But I discovered that with these frozen beans I can make a smaller batch for one person. They are quite good with being the same ingredients but with less work and shorter cook time. For me I use 2 bags of beans and bacon and potatoes as desired.
