I rent so don't know when this was installed. I've liven here 3 months short of 7 years and just now replacing it. It is the exact same one it replaces. Extremely easy to install. Was impossible to miss when the unit told me it was expired. 3 short beeps then increasing to 5 short beeps. Unplugged it and took out battery until I replaced it within two days. It is plugged in close to my newly installed brand new furnace and air conditioning unit.

Great CO Detector (I hope)
I like that these are plug-in as primary source of operation. They also have a 9v battery back-up, w/ the battery included. I decided to buy a "trusted" brand instead of another unknown brand. My previous brand was Kidde, which also worked well, although they never alarmed the entire 7 years that I owned them. Hopefully, these work. Not sure how one can be tested. Maybe by burning paper?
