Looks nice, but low quality

Looks nice in person and on screen, but is relatively low quality (made of mystery asian softwood). For the Walmart price this isn't terrible... but the material, finishing, build quality are pretty bad. Ours arrived with a broken hinge for the fold down drawer. The desk top is rough to the touch and there are a number of surfaces (underside of the top, sides, drawer parts, hutch parts, back of hutch) that are clearly not sanded. The grey color is achieved through some kind of paint process and is really thick / rough and not fully covered in some places (drawer and hutch drawers). Also, this is covered in Prop 65 warning stickers ... not something I would expect for a product marketed to "student" use.
