Very pretty arbor with trellis that I plan to use outside with native honey suckle. But is it weather proof or is it going to rot after a year?? I'm baffled that the wood material isn't listed anywhere, and no instructions about how to care for this outdoors! When I unwrapped the box, it smelled like cedar which I think is supposed to be somewhat naturally weather resistant. I noticed a slight green tinge, so maybe it's pressure treated but no way to know for sure. In addition, this thing falls over in the slightest breeze and must be secured to the ground but didn't come with any stakes or anchors. The overall price was decent, but now I have to buy stakes and waterproofing sealant, which will probably cost another $30-$40. As for assembly, it was a little tricky to put together and does require your own tools. I used a power screwdriver with Phillips head, but you need a long bit toward the end as there are a few recessed holes that are impossible to reach with a short bit. The wood is quite thin and actually broke in one place so be very careful when screwing. I glued it back together with wood glue. It'll be pretty once I finally get it installed in the yard. Just hope it holds up against the elements after all this work!
