Pennington Sahara Bermudagrass Grass Seed, 15 lb., is a hardy variety of drought-tolerant Bermudagrass that has been bred to grow finer and greener than other common grasses. Bermuda is best adapted to southern zones. It is extremely durable and holds up well to heavy foot traffic. It grows well in sunny areas but is not very shade-tolerant. It produces a thick, dark green, self-repairing growth for your lawn that is 99% weed-free. This 15 pound bag cover sup to 15,000 sq. ft. Plant Category is Grasses, Condition is New.

Instructions
Planting Instructions: 3 Easy steps. Follow these guidelines for lush, thick grass. (1) Bare Spots/New Grass: Remove debris, then rake the soil to loosen and smooth the top layer. Overseeding/Thin Areas: Same instructions as above but start by mowing existing grass as short as possible. (2) Apply: Spread the seed evenly using a drop, rotary or hand-held spreader according to the settings below. Lay down a starter fertilizer to help the seedlings grow healthy and strong. Rake gently to work your seed & fertilizer into the coil. (3) Water: Keep the soil moist! Water daily (twice a day if you have to) until grass sprouts and reaches about 1 inch - 1 1/2 inches tall. Recommended Spreader Settings: Spreader: Scotts Hand - Held Spreaders [Handy Green II]: Overseeding/Thin Areas: 2; Bare Spots/New Grass: 3; Scotts Broadcast/Rotary Spreaders [Turf Builder Edgeguard Mini, Turf Builder Edgeguard DLX]: Overseeding/Thin Areas: 2; Bare Spots/New Grass: 2 1/2. Scotts easygreen: Overseeding/Thin Areas: 23; Bare Spots/New Grass: 24. Scotts Drop Spreader [AccuGreen]: Overseeding/Thin Areas: 2 3/4; Bare Spots/New Grass: 4 1/4. Additional Care Tips: Once your grass is 1/3 taller than the recommended mowing height you may begin mowing it. Avoid removing more than 1/3 of the total grass blade length at any single mowing to keep your grass thick and healthy. Increase your mowing height in summer months to reduce grass stress. Important: Applying weed control products to grass prior to seeding can affect the seeds��� ability to grow. Be sure to read and follow all manufacturer's recommendations and application instructions prior to applying any weed control products and prior to seeding. Additionally, do not apply any weed control products to newly seeded areas until grass is established and has been mowed at least 3 or 4 times. Once newly seeded areas are established, you can begin a regular feeding schedule.
