Stanley Garden BDS6652 Stanley Fatmax 5/8 x 100 Garden Hose, 100-ft, Yellow

Purchased 100 foot hose just over 1 year ago for our horse stable, this hose is dragged across gravel driveways, barn aisles and screwed on and off hydrants and faucets numerous times a day. Only just recently we had to replace the female end do to loosing its ability to thread onto faucets, over all we are very pleased with this hose and have Purchased 2 more so each area of the farm has a hose. Yes we would purchase again.

We have purchased, in the past two weeks, a pair of Stanley Fatmax hoses. One is a 60-ft. hose and it is at the front of our house, in the garage. The second is on an outside wall of our home, in the backyard. This is the 100-footer and my wife uses it to water her large vegetable garden and to wash the vegetables. So, overall the product's features are great ... improved water flow (5/8"), softer, easier to unroll and return to the hose hangers, etc. However, my wife is -- to a considerable level -- noticing what she describes as a "chemical" smell on the outdoor hose -- and she says the same smell is all over the vegetables in her garden. Can you please advise is this odor -- which I can also perceive -- is something to be concerned about ... will it disappear? I recognized that some synthetic materials do have odours that will, over time, dissipate. My wife is also a bit concerned over safety ... can she safely water her vegetable garden?
