Schumacher Electric Rechargeable 2-in-1 Jump Starter and Flashlight - 800 Amp, 12V - USB Power for Charging Phones/Tablets

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a large flashlight, think of the old mag flashlight that takes 4 d batteries that police often use. This charges with a micro usb connection.  I am not the worlds largest fan of this type of connection as they often fail with heavy use.  I doubt this unit will see this much usage as a cell phone.  This tool takes quite a bit of time to charge from 6.5 to 15 hours.  This is common for jump start packs.   The flash light has a confusing operation for anyone who has not read the instruction manual.  To operate the lamp you must depress the operation switch once to turn the unit on and then hold the button to turn on the lamp.  The lamp has 3 modes continuous, strobe, and sos flash pattern.  The flash light has a great useful pattern the lamp is wide and bright enough to see in day light but not so bright that it is hard to use in close proximity at night.  I ran the flashlight after charging for 5 hours continuously the light was still bright and the charge indicator stated under 50 percent charge.  This is well within the advertised usage.  Jump starting: I killed the battery in my 2008 Ford focus by leaving both the lights and key on for 45 minutes.  The jumper cables are made of high quality silicone for the wire and the clamps open wide enough to accommodate my top post battery.  The jump start unit quickly got the Focus up and running quickly.  The engine did not crank hard as the engine cranked at normal speed during cranking.  This tool is not designed for heavy continuous usage it is designed to start a well running vehicle that has had either a battery failure or dead battery.   Final thoughts: This is a fantastic unit. It has plenty of amps to start most vehicles.  This style of jump pack is a great idea for a safety item in a vehicle.  Although it is fairly large its usefulness is well proven.  I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great jump starter.

It works great. I love that it had so many advantages and features all in one gadget. The flashlight can last up to 7 hours and has multiple settings that you can use. I feel that this would come handy when you find yourself stranded at night with car trouble. It has a USB charger for your phone too when you have no way else to charge your phone. It comes well protected and packaged when you first get it. It's a nice quality flashlight jumpstarter too. You can tell a lot of thought went into this product when it was designed. Two thumbs up!!
