Perfect way to get into the Metal Gear series

With this, you can get the greatest video game series ever made in one bundle. The artbook included is very nice and gives a brief intro to the themes in each game. As for the games themselves, they look great and have no bugs or glitches that I can find. Not only that, but this includes the Substance and Subsistence versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 respectively, meaning that you get all the VR missions, Snake Tales, and other extras not included in the regular MGS2; and Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and a few other extras not included in the regular MGS3. MGS2, 3, 4, and Peace Walker all include trophies. MGS2, 3, and Peace Walker as well as the two digital graphic novels are included on disc 1, MGS4 on disc 2, and MGS1 and VR Missions are separate downloads from the Playstation Store which you can install to your PS3 or PSP (or both). The games themselves have complicated, cerebral plots and very emotional storytelling and characters, as well as amazing voice acting and intense gameplay. I'd recommend playing the games in the order they were released: Metal Gear (found on the main menu of MGS3, released 1987) Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (found on the main menu of MGS3, released 1990) Metal Gear Solid, released 1998 Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, released 1999 Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, released 2002 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, released 2006 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, released 2007 Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, released 2010 All except for MGS1 and VR Missions have switched the button used for menu selection. On the PS2 versions of MGS2 and 3, the circle button selected menu items. On this release, it has been switched to the more comfortable X button. MGS1 still retains circle as the selection button. The only complaint I can find is that the Codec calls on MGS2 seem to take a few seconds longer than on the PS2 to start when you are called or when you call another character.

Great PS3 Release for Stealth Gamers

If all you like to do is shoot people in a virtual environment and go for "head shots," you may want to choose another game series. Disc 1 is Metal Gear Solid 4. Disc 2 is MGS3, Peace Walker, and MGS2. A code is provided for downloading the PS1 originals, Metal Gear Solid 1 and MGS VR Missions. I misunderstood when I had previously read there would be Metal Gear 1 and 2 versions available with this collection would be the NES versions. As it turns out, MG1 and MG2 are the MSX2 (JP PC) versions included in the Metal Gear Solid 3 menu. I've yet to fully browse the bonus content. Supposedly there are two videos/motion comics.
