1/2 pt Dap 12240 #53 Painter's Putty White Professional Painter's Putty

I had no problem using it fresh, but when it aged for a year in the properly sealed original container, it hardened and cannot be worked easily. I wish the manufacturer would recommend a solvent to soften the putty. Is paint thinner a good solvent?

The print is so small, it's difficult to read, so I didn't realize this stuff doesn't harden until I had done the work. I did a large section around the top edge of my shower stall, which I'm going to need to dig out the layer of plumbers putty. I need patch repair compound that hardens for this job. I'm only taking 1 star off since it does work good on nail and screw holes as the label recommends. I just figured if it works for nail holes, it should work for patch work too. My bad, as I should have done some research before using it.
