Add monitor to laptop

Worked perfectly. Connected Win 10 HP laptop with monitor HDMI output to older VGA HP monitor. One note though, when I tried hooking everything up BEFORE turning laptop on the laptop just hung with a black screen. So turn on laptop FIRST THEN plug in monitor. My monitor also has separate power supply so I did not need the side power input plug they included ( a small female port on the side of the in line box on the cable itself).
