Good Computer, Could have been bad!

In short: Good computer, BUT could have been a very bad purchase if I didn't create a 'restore point' right away. In long: I bought this computer after reading several others were having issues with the graphics card/windows. I received this laptop on 12/10/2018. I am writing this on 12/13/2018. The first updates I did, the computer seemed fine. I then immediately went and saved off several restore points. For BOTH drives. I had read that others with the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB/Windows OS would sometimes shutdown when during game play, or regular use. After saving off these restore points, I did the usual downloaded chrome, and started getting everything set up the way that I like it. After this was done, I again saved a restore point on both the SSD and the HDD. - VERY smart move. At this time only one of my monitors was working with the laptop. Next day there were several other Window's 10 updates. I figured I could download them and then try to figure out why both monitors wouldn't turn on. The update finished. I plugged in both my external monitors, and attempted to connect them. Once i tried this the graphics card's shut down. Both the discrete GTX 1050 Ti and the built in Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 ( this one is built in on the processor) were disabled, and when i attempted to enable them - without the monitors plugged - they would run well. As soon as I plugged one of the monitors in both graphics cards would crash. Windows would then inform me "Display driver failed to start; using Microsoft Basic Display Driver instead. Check Windows Update for newer display driver". I went online and read a bunch of other people talking about this very issue. More or less - as far as I could find there was no great fix for it. There were chats on reddit and elsewhere for almost one year... without a great answer. I then went back to the restore point, and tried it all again. This time I did all of the driver updates, saved the restore point again, and then I plugged in the monitors. - and guess what - they both work well. I have then gone and updated Windows as it wanted me to do to. Now everything works. Here my needs, I work in excel, working to learn more of SQL and other data base systems, like to watch youtube, movies, recreationally look stuff up online, look at things online for future business purposes, and I have 500GB of music, I am a total audiophile. Honestly this computer is/was totally overkill. But thats what I wanted. Something that would work well for at least the next 4-5 years, and be able to keep my two 22" monitors running well. Main reason why I chose this laptop is because it has the Thunderbolt 3 attachment. In all honesty, I do not use it, but I know in the future it will become far more relevant. Here are the specs: -Core™ i7-8750H -NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti 4GB -1TB HDD + 256GB SSD Storage -16GB RAM G5587-7835BLK Miscellaneous info - I was worried about the monitor not being connected all the way across. I was thinking I might accidentally bend or break it. I feel pretty confident about it now, that i have one. Also the charger chord for it is quite large. Just an FYI. I hope this info helps future buyers.

LOVE IT!!!

Shipped fast, handled demanding games, and came with the listed specs: i7 8750HQ, GTX 1050Ti 4GB, and 16GB Ram. I was very satisfied with how fast it shipped and how strong it is. I'd get more ram in the future but for now, these 16GB will be perfectly fine. I also love the build quality and the soft touch finish and this is also VERY easy to upgrade.

Great laptop for a great price!

I bought this laptop on black friday for $900, great price! However, the delivery was delayed, and two previous orders that I made were cancelled. It thought I was not going to get this deal, but I did it and the laptop is amazing. I have played Far Cry Primal at high graphics fluently. The fans can be noisy but it does not matter for me if the laptop is cool. It is heavy, but it worth it.
